THE OFJ WEEKLY - Week 11 Recap

Real progress. No shortcuts. One week at a time.

THE WEEK THAT WAS…

Sunday, August 17 – Saturday, August 23

  • Starting weight: 265.8

  • Ending weight: 266.6

  • Change: +0.8 lbs

  • Total steps: 109,880

  • Average per day: ~16,597

  • Calories: Tough week — too many days over, more “off” meals than I’d planned

  • Context: Golf outing, customer dinners, time with grandbabies, dinner with friends

  • Total Loss since June 9: –19.8 lbs

On paper, this wasn’t the week I wanted. The scale ticked up, calories weren’t locked in, and there were a lot of events that pulled me off plan.

But here’s the thing: given everything on the calendar, I’m actually glad it was just a small gain. That’s life. And the bigger picture still looks solid. One week doesn’t undo the last 10.

THE UPCOMING WEEK…

Sunday, August 24 – Saturday, August 30

  • Step goal: 12,000+ per day (84K+ total)

  • Calories: Track daily — only planned off-night is Friday date night

  • Pushups/situps:  Monday through Friday

  • Schedule: Home all week, which makes it easier to stay consistent

This is a chance to reset and tighten things up. One week at home, one week without the work and social chaos — the excuses are gone.

The focus is simple:

  • Hit the step goal daily

  • Nail calories every day but Friday night

  • Lock in the strength work Mon–Fri

Big goal: Stay on pace for 10 lbs/month. That means hitting 256.4 by September 9 — two weeks away. The math works if I do.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“If at first you don’t succeed, you are running about average.”
M.H. Alderson

Last week wasn’t a home run. But setbacks are normal.
This isn’t about batting 1.000 — it’s about sticking in the game long enough to win.

Forward is forward. Average is part of the process. What matters is that I’m still here, still showing up, still taking the next step. That’s how average days turn into extraordinary results over time.

Until next time,
