THE OFJ WEEKLY - Week 12 Recap

Real progress. No shortcuts. One week at a time.

THE WEEK THAT WAS…

Sunday August 24 through Saturday August 30

Started at 266.6 lbs, ended at 266.2 lbs — not a big move on the scale, but the work still stacked up. Logged 133,059 steps, with four days clearing 20K+. Pushups and sit-ups every day. Calories stayed under goal the first four days, then the holiday weekend crept in early.

Work brought some disappointing news, but being home meant I got a lot done — and the long weekend has been a good reset. This journey isn’t about perfection, it’s about persistence. Another brick laid.

THE UPCOMING WEEK…

Sunday, August 31 – Saturday, September 6

  • Step goal: 12,000+ per day (84K+ total)

  • Calories: Track every day except Sunday & Monday (holiday weekend)

  • Pushups + situps: Tuesday through Friday

Monday’s still part of the Labor Day break, but Tuesday it’s back on the road through Saturday evening. Customer events will keep me busy, but the real key (as always with travel) is getting the early walk in before the day takes over. That’s the plan — steps first, then everything else.

This long weekend was needed — time to relax, step back, and enjoy a break from the grind. But now the page turns. With September 9 circled on the calendar, the window is short. The margin for coasting is gone.

Monday will still be part of the holiday reset, but Tuesday starts a full week on the road. That means customer events, hotel food, and the usual distractions. It also means discipline has to come first. For me, that looks like getting the early walk in every morning — because if I wait, the day takes it from me. The steps, the food choices, the workouts… none of it will happen by accident.

The weekend gave me rest. This week demands focus. The goal hasn’t moved, and neither will I. Brick by brick.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“I hated every minute of training, but I said, ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’”
— Muhammad Ali

Ali’s words remind us that discipline isn’t about loving the work — it’s about staying with it when it gets uncomfortable. Holidays, travel, setbacks — none of that changes the mission.

Real life doesn’t pause for fitness goals. Holidays happen. Work news comes and goes. What matters is showing up anyway. That’s what we’re building inside the OFJ community — not perfection, but persistence.
