THE OFJ WEEKLY - Week 17 Recap

Real progress. No shortcuts. One week at a time.

THE WEEK THAT WAS…

Sunday, September 28 – Saturday, October 4

  • Starting weight: 256.4

  • Ending weight: 251.8

  • Change: –4.6 lbs

  • Total steps: 100,546

  • Average per day: ~14,364

  • Pushups/Sit-ups:  Mon–Fri

  • Calories: On point Sun–Fri, planned overage Saturday

This was one of those weeks where the system clicked. Down 4.6 pounds, steps topped 100K again, and strength work stayed rock-solid. Calories were on target all week except Saturday’s planned off day, and the consistency is clearly paying off.

It’s been almost four months since restarting this journey, and the numbers now reflect what steady discipline looks like — not quick fixes, just daily follow-through stacked over time. The next short-term target is 246.4 lbs, and it’s finally within reach.

THE UPCOMING WEEK…

Sunday, October 5 – Saturday, October 11

  • Step goal: 12,000+ per day (morning walk to anchor travel days)

  • Pushups/Sit-ups:  Mon–Fri

  • Calories: Stay mindful Sun, Mon, Thu, Fri

  • Off plan: Tuesday & Wednesday evening events, Saturday family day

  • Schedule highlights:
🚗 Sun–Thu: Louisville show (setup Mon, show Tue–Thu)
🚚 Post-show trailer move then drive home
🛑 Friday: No date night (Beth with her mom)
🏈 Saturday: Football with the kids
🎃 Sunday: Halloween cookie day with the grandkids

This week will be a grind — travel, events, and long days — but the habits are set. The goal is to keep the routine steady, control what I can, and let consistency do its job.

Every choice matters, especially when things get hectic. Momentum doesn’t survive on luck; it survives on structure.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“Continuous effort — not strength or intelligence — is the key to unlocking our potential.”
— Liane Cordes

Big changes don’t come from one massive push; they come from showing up again and again and again.

Continuous effort is the quiet power behind all progress — the morning walks, the logged meals, the workouts when it would be easier to skip. None of those moments look impressive on their own, but together they build something unstoppable.

That’s the key: effort that never quits, even when motivation does.

Until next time,
