THE OFJ WEEKLY - Week 19 Recap

Real progress. No shortcuts. One week at a time.

THE WEEK THAT WAS…

Sunday, October 12 – Saturday, October 18

  • Starting weight: 259.0

  • Ending weight: 258.0

  • Change: –1.0 lb

  • Total steps: 84,324

  • Average per day: ~12,046

  • Pushups/Sit-ups:  Mon–Thu (missed Fri)

  • Calories: Loosened up toward the end of the week — skipped tracking Sunday, Friday, and Saturday; went over Thursday

Solid week overall. The scale ticked down a pound, steps stayed consistent, and even with a few relaxed meals, the momentum kept moving in the right direction.

I loosened up on calories near the weekend, but that’s part of finding a sustainable rhythm. I don’t need to be perfect every day — I just need to stay aware, stay active, and keep stacking weeks like this one.

It wasn’t flashy, but it was forward.

THE UPCOMING WEEK…

Sunday, October 19 – Saturday, October 25

  • Step goal: 12,000+ per day (morning walk to start the day)

  • Pushups/sit-ups:  Mon–Fri

  • Calories: Be mindful with food — enjoy the dinners, but don’t drift off track

  • Schedule highlights:
✈️ On the road all week (Beth traveling with me)
    🍽 Sunday: Dinner with friends
🍽 Monday: Dinner out with Beth
🍽 Tuesday: Dinner with friends again
🏢 Wed–Fri: Normal workdays, with Beth along
💑 Saturday: Date night in Savannah, Georgia

This week’s about balance — staying focused without missing the moments that matter. Time with Beth, time with friends, time to enjoy life a bit while still keeping the habits that work.

A morning walk, a few miles by the water, and some discipline sprinkled between the fun. That’s the sweet spot.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“Always take time to smell the flowers, and let it fill you with beauty, and rediscover that sense of wonder.”

— Louis Schwartzberg

Progress is important, but so is perspective.

It’s easy to get so locked into the next goal that you forget to appreciate where you are — the sunrise walks, the ocean breeze, the small moments that remind you why you’re doing all this in the first place.

The journey isn’t just about changing the number on the scale. It’s about changing how it feels to live inside your own story.

Until next time,
