THE OFJ WEEKLY - Week 23 Recap

Real progress. No shortcuts. One week at a time.

THE WEEK THAT WAS…

Sunday, November 9 – Saturday, November 15

  • Starting weight: 260.2

  • Ending weight: 258.3

  • Change: –1.9 lbs

  • Total steps: 43,890

  • Average per day: ~6,270

  • Pushups/Sit-ups:  None

  • Calories: Hit 5 days, skipped once, over once

This one won’t win any awards — but in a weird way, it still feels like a win.

The truth is, I was sick most of the week. The head cold from the grandkids hit hard, and I spent more time in bed than on my feet. Steps were down, strength work didn’t happen, and the structure I usually lean on went out the window. But somehow, I still ended up down nearly two pounds — probably a mix of less appetite and a stubborn refusal to completely give in.

Sometimes success isn’t about crushing goals. It’s just about showing up, even at half speed, and making it through the tough stretch without throwing in the towel.

THE UPCOMING WEEK…

Sunday, November 16 – Saturday, November 22

  • The goal this week is simple: get healthy, then get back to work.

    • Steps: 12,000 a day — once I’m back on my feet

    • Calories: 2,000 daily, tracked again

    • Push-ups & sit-ups: Back in the mix Mon–Fri

    • Mindset: Recovery, not regret

If I feel good enough Monday morning, I’ll head back out on the road and get back to my normal rhythm. The big picture hasn’t changed — still aiming for 240s by the end of the year — but first things first: breathe, move, and feel human again.

This week isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about steadying the ship.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“The difference between a strong man and a weak one is that the former does not give up after a defeat.”
— Woodrow Wilson

There are weeks that test you — the kind that knock you back a few steps, throw your plans in the dirt, and dare you to stay down.

But strength isn’t about avoiding defeat. It’s about refusing to quit when it shows up. This week was messy, but I didn’t quit — and that’s what matters most.

Until next time,
